Weather Emergencies During the Pandemic

Winter brings beautiful snowy landscapes, but also the possibility of severe weather and power outages.  Prepare in advance by having a cell phone and keeping it charged at all times.

Sign up for Emergency Notifications.  Talk with your neighbors – do you need a neighbor to check on you?  Do you know of someone who you could check on?  Make sure family and friends’ contact information is written near your phone.  Have a flashlight, lantern or headlamp ready.  Set up an emergency kit with extra non-perishable food, water, snack bars, medications, pet food (if applicable).  Check your smoke/CO detectors, add fresh batteries.
