We are happy to present the final report of the Livable Sudbury community needs assessment, click at bottom of page to access report.  A meeting is scheduled on Thursday, March 21.  Refreshments will be at 6:00 PM. Presentation will start at 6:30 PM.

The Study was initiated as part of the effort to work toward the goal of working toward a more age and dementia friendly, or Livable community.

Sudbury, as of April 2018, is part of a regional Metropolitan Area Planning Council initiative with 13 other towns, that has been accepted into the AARP World Health Organization network of Livable communities.  (A Livable Community being defined as a “great place for people of all ages”.)

The community assessment report and all of the work that went into it (survey, focus groups, interviews, document review, and forums), is the result of the hard work and expertise of Jan Mutchler, Professor of Gerontology and Director of the UMass Boston Center for Social and Demographic Research on Aging, and Caitlin Coyle, Research Fellow at the CSDRA.

We are sure the study results will inform and inspire the Sudbury Selectboard, Town, Town Departments, and the new Master Plan Steering Committee as they move forward in planning for Sudbury’s future.
